26th January is a remarkable day in the history of India, as on this day, the Constitution finally came to effect. Since then the day is celebrated as Republic Day.
India’s 70th Republic Day was celebrated with great reverence in R.V.S. Academy. The day began with a flag hoisting by the chief guest Mr. Binda Singh (Chairman of R.V.S.A) and other executive members of the committee Mr. Shatrughan Singh and Mr. Shakti Singh followed by the flag song, our National Anthem and the pledge. The Guest of Honour spoke eloquently about our diverse nation and the relevance of the Constitution and the Preamble. He enthralled the audience with inspirational stories and stressed on the need for being resolute in our path to achieve our goals.
This was followed by speeches in Hindi and English, different group dances performed by four Houses, based on Patriotism and Patriotic songs in Hindi and English. All the events made the children bow in allegiance to the brave freedom fighters who laid their lives for the Motherland. It is the Unity in Diversity which makes India unique. The day ended on a sweet note by distributing the sweets to the children.
