International Yoga Day was organized virtually on 21 June 2021 at RVS Academy, Dimna Road, Mango. School Chairman Mr. Binda Singh, Principal Mrs. Mitali Roy Choudhury, Vice Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, teachers and students participated in this event. The children of class 6, 7, 8 performed asanas like Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Shalabhasana etc. In his message on this occasion, School Chairman, Shri Binda Singh Ji said that Yoga is a unique feature of our Indian culture. A healthy mind resides in a healthy body, our sages knew it very well, so they developed the tradition of yoga, which today, in the midst of a global pandemic, can relieve the stress of people suffering from depression and mental stress surrounded by dire situations. They are fully capable of removing and keeping them healthy from body and mind. Yoga is even more beneficial for the students, it is helpful in keeping the mind focused and calm.
Children also made videos doing various types of asanas in which they showed yoga asanas like Anulom Vilom Pranayama and Kapal Bhati etc. to increase immunity in the body. All the children understood the importance of yoga and came to know that by doing yoga, the ability of the body to fight against diseases increases. Yoga also develops powers like meditation, contemplation and sadhana within us.Thus the effort of the school to celebrate Yoga Day was commendable.
