Webinar on’ Best out of Waste’ organized at RVS Academy on 6th July, 2021. In order to nurture the value of environmental protection and conservation among children, RVS Academy organized a webinar on 6th of July, 2021,’Best Out of Waste’ through a creative craft activity. The webinar was graced by the magnetic presence of our honorable Chairman Sir, Mr. Binda Singh, Principal, Mrs. Mitali Roy Choudhury, Vice Principal, Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Teachers and Students. This forward thinking was embraced by our respected Chairman Sir, Mr. Binda Singh, who took the initiative to organize a first of it’s kind event through a webinar during the school hours. The students of Std V and VI had to create interesting items from the waste materials generated at their homes. Our children, while staying indoors during the pandemic, made use of a lot of things around in their house that are labelled as dump. Most of these collected dumps can be useful for other purposes if recycled. Hence, uttilizing the best from unwanted things has become a generic necessity of every human’s life. This event, which was a brainchild of our Chairman sir, Mr. Binda Singh , will help foster student’s growth thereby enhancing their thinking skills, creativity and thus building their personality. He said that Covid 19 pandemic has taught everyone to be grateful for the little things in life, especially good health and Mother Nature. He also said that with the flattening Covid-19 curve, not only is it very important to still follow the Covid appropriate norms but also to keep our children occupied and channelize their energy for the best functioning of their body and minds. The resource person for the event was Mrs. Veesha Mohindra. Under the able guidance of Mr Dipankar Ganguly , the students were able to create their ‘Best’ from waste items. Sankalp Sahu, Tejaswani, Ayesha, KritikaRaj, Sanvi, Parul, Tripti and Jyotika re-used the domestic waste items like ice-cream sticks, broken bangles, old toys and colorful papers etc to create crafty pieces like wall hangings multipurpose shelves, decorative caterpillars, village hut fairy lamp and many more. The students realized the importance of recycling and reusing waste materials available to them. It explored and encouraged creativity in children and offered them a platform to showcase their skill. It also inspired children to think and work creatively and promote artistic excellence. It was a delight to see how scrap could be transformed into such useful and beautiful articles. This fun filled activity witnessed an enthusiastic participation from all the students.
