Mrs. Catherine Jackson and Miss Caroline Met calfe of Consett Academy, Durham, U.K were on a three days visit to R.V.S Academy, Mango, Jamshedpur. This visit was a part of the connecting classrooms project of the British Council. In 2016, both the schools are working on the project ‘Zero Hunger’. On the last day of their visit, a cultural programme was hosted by the students of the school followed by a Press Conference.
The learned guests were welcomed by the members of the school managrment , Chairman Mr.Binda Singh, the secretary Mr.Bharat Singh, the Executive members Mr. Shakti Singh,& Mr.Shatrughan Singh, the Principal Mrs. Veena Talwar, the Vice Principal Mrs. Mitali Roy Choudhury teachers and students.
The ceremonial lamp was lighted by the visiting educationists and the school management. After this, the Principal of R.V.S Academy Mrs. Veena Talwar welcomed the dignitaries.A project demonstration on ‘Zero Hunger’ was given by the teachers Miss Nidhi Agarwal and Mr. Shiv Narayan Kar. There was a colourful medly of songs, Fancy Dress and Fashion show. The songs presented touched upon the theme of “Unity & Togetherness”. Fancy Dress presented by the tiny tots was based on the theme “Globalization of Fashion”.
The visitors were enthralled by the programme. They addressed the gathering with their inspirational words and extended their wasrmj wishes. After the school song, the cultural programme ended on a patriotic note with the National Anthem.
A press conference was also organized in the school auditorium for an interactive session with the esteemedvisitors. 4The conveyed that they were highly impressed with the quality of education imparted in the school, discipline and the various activities of the school. They answerd a number of questions asked by the press and said that they were very happy with this visit and it was quit an enriching and learning experience for them.
