Students of Std 12 (Science) from RVS Academy had a unique learning experience during their educational field trip to the National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur. Accompanied by their teachers, the visit offered students a first-hand understanding of advanced metallurgical processes, research, and innovations that drive the industry.
The day began with a warm welcome from the NML team, who provided an overview of the facility’s history and significance in the field of materials science and metallurgy. The students were given a guided tour of the research and testing labs, where they observed cutting-edge experiments and the practical application of concepts studied in their curriculum.
Key highlights of the visit included demonstrations of metal testing techniques, discussions on sustainability in metallurgy, and interactive sessions with scientists, who encouraged students to consider careers in scientific research and engineering. The hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of theoretical concepts but also inspired them to think critically about the role of science in industrial and societal development.
Commenting on the success of the visit, Mr. Binda Singh, Chairman of RVS Academy, said, “At RVS Academy, we firmly believe in providing our students with opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. The visit to NML is a testament to our commitment to nurturing curious minds and equipping them with real-world insights. Such educational experiences help our students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, igniting a passion for innovation and research.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, Principal of RVS Academy, stated, “The field trip to the National Metallurgical Laboratory was a remarkable opportunity for our Std 12 Science students to witness the transformative power of science in action. This hands-on exposure complements our academic curriculum, inspiring students to explore advanced concepts with a deeper understanding. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to NML for their guidance and to our teachers for ensuring the success of this visit. I am confident that this experience will leave a lasting impact on our students’ academic and professional journeys.”
