R.V.S. Academy, Dimna Road, Mango, hosted its spectacular 24th Annual Sports Day on Sunday, December 8, 2024. The event was a grand celebration of athleticism, discipline, and cultural diversity, marked by the enthusiastic participation of the school management, including Chairman Mr. Binda Singh, Treasurer Mr. Shatrughna Singh, Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, parents, students, staff, and other dignitaries.
The day commenced with the inauguration by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Hassan Imam Mallick, an International Handball Coach, Joint Secretary of the Handball Association of India, and Executive of Health and Wellness, Sports Division, Tata Steel. In his inspiring speech, Dr. Mallick highlighted the significance of sports in building character, teamwork, and resilience.
Following the inauguration, the Chairman Mr. Binda Singh, Treasurer Mr. Shatrughna Singh, the Chief guest Dr. Hassan Imam and Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra released balloons to signify the unyielding spirit of freedom, aspiration, and sportsmanship.
In his address, Chairman Mr. Binda Singh emphasized the importance of sports in education, stating, “Sports instill in students the values of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork, shaping them into future leaders.”
Principal Mrs. Veesha Mohindra, in her message, expressed gratitude to the guests and reiterated the school’s commitment to nurturing holistic growth. “At R.V.S. Academy, we aim to provide a platform where students excel academically, physically, and emotionally. Today’s celebration reflects the culmination of our collective efforts,” she said.
The March Past, performed by the Rose, Violet, Sunflower, and Aster Houses, was a highlight of the event, showcasing impeccable synchronization and energy. Torchbearers, comprising state-level athletes, lit the ceremonial torch, symbolizing the spirit of unity and excellence.
The day’s events featured a range of athletic competitions for junior, senior, and super senior categories, from sprints to relays, displaying students’ exceptional talent and competitive zeal.
A key attraction of the day was the two mesmerizing drills performed by the students. The first drill showcased the marvels of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, symbolizing technological advancements shaping the future. The second drill, themed “Incredible India”, beautifully celebrated the nation’s cultural diversity. Students displayed national symbols and traditional dance forms from five states, stretching from North to South and East to West, encapsulating the essence of unity in diversity.
The drills concluded with a rich tribute to Late Shri Ratan Naval Tata, the legendary industrialist and philanthropist. The heartfelt presentation honored his visionary contributions and unwavering dedication to nation-building, inspiring all present.
The day concluded with the Chairman declaring the meet closed, followed by the announcement of the following awards:
