Nearly 80 students and 10 teachers of R V S Academy, Dimna Road, Mango, Jamshedpur visited an old age home (Ashirwad Bhawan, Baradwari, sakchi) and it came out as a lifelong experience for them. It was a brilliant opportunity to share their love, warmth and feelings with the elderly people residing there. The students realised the value of grandparents and the tenderness with which they need to take care of their grandparents. Students and teachers took some goodies with them for distribution. As a part of Joy of giving week celebration, different necessary articles were collected from different classes like biscuits, cakes, juices, tooth paste, bathing and washing soaps, mixture, daily provisions like flour, rice, dal, oil, sugar, tea leaf, woollen clothes, etc.
During their visit the students realised that parents are a treasure that children should guard zealously. In elderly persons reverberating laughter and wrinkled faces, the students saw the vivid reflection of their grandparents. Students entertained the elderly by singing songs, dancing and sharing their experience with them. They were successful in bringing precious smiles on the inmates faces. It was an enriching experience for all the students to visit the old age home and interact with its inmates. The students and teachers developed a bond with them that would be cherished for years to come.
